I have been labeled a "hat person" by my mother who, by her definition is "not a hat person."I am not sure what makes someone a "hat person." Perhaps it is just the love of hats.
I do love hats. I've loved them mostly in the winter but also have a couple of lightweight summer hats that I like very much.
But I love my white linen hat from Muji.
It has a floppy bendy brim that is wide but not too dramatic and I've taken to wearing it during lengthy stints outside because my skin doesn't act like it used to. My hat also has the perfect band inside to protect the clean whiteness of it on the outside from any makeup or perspiration that may be on my brow.
My hat is not fancy, but it upgrades a summer dress and sandals in a way that I enjoy. It makes me feel like I'm on my way to lunch or the beach--not to work. If I wear big glasses with it I feel like people are wondering "Who's that mysterious woman," or even "Who's that married woman from Brooklyn who doesn't have to work."
Either one is fine with me.

ooooooo I need!! Been looking for a shady hat! Although, with the size of my head I not only have the problem of my neck supporting the weight about as well as a newborn baby...it also doesn't fit well into hats. Question for the editor: Will it be big enough for my giant head? So many irresponsible hats in the past have given me a giant red divot on my forehead....

I also have a large head and hate a tight hat and the red line on the forehead. This one does no such thing. The hat is loose, but not too loose and the bendy wire in the brim is FANTASTIC-O for incognito sitting time. Thanks for your question. Keep them coming. Hearts!
